Age: He hasn't kept track of his actual age, but he was hatched in the American colonies some time in the 1700s. While posing as a human, he gives his age as 42.
Appearance: The Pyrenean blackwing is a large species of dragon, though not quite as large as those native to the Alpine regions; Cyrus is of average size as a full-grown male, measuring about ten meters high and twenty-five meters in length. His scales are uniformly black (as is the thick membrane of his wings), though they produce an iridescent luster when exposed to moisture, and his eyes are a tawny gold. The form he most commonly adopts while posing as a human is one he's used for years, the first human he'd ever successfully glamoured in his life: adult, white, of tall and lean build, with brown hair, pale eyes, and a gaunt, narrow face.

Note: The magic by which Cyrus and other "higher" dragons adopt a human disguise is virtually the same used most notoriously by switchtail foxes. While the magic is functionally the same, however, it's a great deal more difficult for a huge dragon to "size down" into a human form than it is for the considerably smaller fox. As a result, Cyrus is unable to continuously maintain his human guise without the aid of a Medean band to forcibly prevent him from reverting to his natural state.

he is an old dragon

but not like dinosaur old, like hatched in the 1700's old

he does not like to broadcast the fact that he is a dragon, but sometimes he can't help acting like one anyway

"acting like one" in this case generally means being covetous of/easily distracted by gems and rare metals and shiny things, as well as being hungry literally almost all the time

he is also incredibly lazy and on most days would rather take a nap than do anything else

and also pretty darn vain and arrogant on account of being a very old dragon

he uses magic to make himself look human and is attempting to blend in with human society because of Reasons

he's been doing this for a while but sometimes he's still not very good at it oops

he can also use magic (and his own dragony biology) to ~glamour~ people, i.e. hypnotize them into a pliable state of mind so they'll do what he wants

but he's too lazy/not ambitious enough to use that sort of thing for anything really nefarious

like maybe he'll glamour the waitstaff into comping his very expensive deluxe five-star meal but that's about the worst he'll do

technically he's a breed of european dragon but he speaks with a(n american) southern accent/dialect because he has lived in the (american) south pretty much his entire life

his only useful/profitable skill is identifying and appraising jewelry (i.e. precious stones and metals) and enchanted things

he can also identify fey (magical critters) virtually on sight but the jewelry thing is generally more useful

when he can be bothered to make use of it

did i mention he's super lazy
